What is the typical absorption rate of Phlojel Ultra (PU)?

There is no straightforward answer. It depends on whether you are interested in tissue levels, sub-epidermal or blood levels and, of course, the characteristics and concentration of agent in the PU applied. Experimental determination would be required for any specific situation. Empirically, the analgesic effects of an anti-inflammatory drug incorporated in PU are felt within minutes of application.

What is the average shelf-life of PU?


3-5 years at room temperature.

Why is there liquid separated in my PU?


This occurs when it is frozen and thawed. It can be re-incorporated by vigorously shaking the sealed jar for 30-60 sec. it still works the same even if it has a slightly different appearance. It does not however affect the PUs effectiveness.
 

Why is PU better than DMSO and what is the difference?


DMSO is strictly a solvent that dissolves skin components allowing non-selective penetration of materials applied to the skin. PU is more selective and compatible with skin components and, therefore, less toxic.

Is there any way to increase the absorption rate of PU?


There are both physiological and chemical means to increase absorption rate. These include: a) apply to freshly-washed skin; b) occlude the affected application area, e.g. a bandage; c) add penetration enhancers such as menthol, d-limonene; DMSO up to 15%; add other solvents such as alcohol, propylene glycol, glycerol, transcutol but only in small amounts; if blood levels are required apply the product to an area of the body where the skin thickness is thin, e.g. the wrists, the forearm, behind the ear.

Does it help to mix my drug with alcohol before mixing it with PU?


No more than 5% alcohol should be used to incorporate a drug in PU. Generally, the drug can be levigated with PU itself.                 

If I am using a drug (formulation) with binders and glues in it, what should I do?


Generally, a drug in another formulation should not be added to PU because of potential incompatibilities. Only the pure drug should be used. If however pure base drug cannot be obtained, you may incorporate the binders and glue into the PU.  However, crush the medication into a fine powder.  You still may find the mixture to be gritty.

I live outside the United States. Can I still order PU?


Yes.  At this time there are no countries that ban the importation of Pholjel Ultra.      

I have some “gritty” residue after I mix up my medication with PU. What is that and does it matter?


The grittiness is caused by the dispersion of large particles. If the drug(s) to be incorporated are properly levigated prior to incorporation, there will be no grittiness. Besides being gritty, the drug(s) absorption rate may also be reduced.

Would it help with absorption if I mixed DMSO with the PU and, if so, how much?


PU will tolerate only about 15 percent DMSO. There may be an improvement of absorption but it depends on the drug. However, as mentioned earlier DMSO is a non-selective solvent which may also interfere with the actions of PU.

How are your shipping rates determined?

Shipping rates vary depending on the method selected and the weight of the order. We also offer flat rate shipping.

What should I do if my order does not arrive when expected?

Most domestic orders are shipped from one of our warehouse locations within 24 hours and should arrive within 2-5 business days depending on your location, the carrier, and the selected delivery option.

International orders should arrive at your country's customs office within 4-12 business days, depending on which shipping method was selected and the destination country. In extreme circumstances, customs inspections can delay the delivery of international orders, but we include all the paperwork necessary to speed up the inspections process and clear customs as quickly as possible.

We've partnered with multiple regional and national couriers and offer the following shipping options in the United States:

Standard: Standard shipping normally arrives within two to three business days, and is usually the best option for heavy shipments.

Two Business Day Delivery: Two-day delivery helps ensure delivery within two business days. Please understand that we can only ship items that are in-stock at one of our domestic warehouses. For two-day delivery, orders must be placed Monday - Friday by 1:00pm Central to qualify.

One Business Day Delivery: Selecting this option ensures we can ship your package in just one business day, and is the best option for shipments you need in a hurry. Please understand that we can only ship items that are in-stock at one of our domestic warehouses. For one-day delivery, orders must be placed Monday - Friday by 10:00am Central to qualify.

Military: Military shipping normally arrives within three to eight business days, and is the only shipping option available for APO, FPO, or DPO military mailing addresses.

What shipping methods do you offer internationally?

We have worked hard to find the best shipping methods possible for our international customers. Many factors play a role in the time it takes for an international shipment to arrive at your door, but we do everything we can to help ensure these times are as quick as possible. When placing an order, you can select from the following shipping options:

Standard Delivery (10 - 25 Business Days*): This service is very popular for smaller, lighter packages with orders delivered by the local mail service. Unfortunately, tracking numbers may not be available to customers on packages sent using this shipping method.

Economy (5 - 10 Business Days*): For even faster delivery, international customers can select the Economy shipping method, which speeds delivery and includes step-by-step tracking information, allowing you to follow the progress of your order all the way to your front door.

Priority (2 - 6 Business Days*): Priority shipping is the fastest method available to international customers. Shipping times are incredibly fast, with most orders arriving at your country's customs agency very quickly. Priority also offers more tracking visibility, which allows you to check the status on your order at any time.

Why did I receive a message that an item cannot be shipped to my country?

When you are shopping at RecaptureLife.com, you have the ability to add any item to your shopping cart. However, when you enter your address, select your shipping country, and an error message displays, the flagged item has known import restrictions to your country and will not be allowed through customs.

Due to regulations put in place by the local customs department in some countries, we may not be able to ship all items available in our store to your location.

Regulations are different in every country, and though they change often, we do our best to keep up with them and update your store as soon as we know of a new restriction. We try not to ship products that are restricted in your country to prevent you from losing out on the item and money, however the responsibility falls on you, the customer, to ensure the products ordered are not seized by customs.

Do you ship to APO, FPO, or DPO military addresses?

We are honored to support members of our nation’s military, and ship to all APO, FPO, or DPO military addresses. When placing your order, select the Military shipping option to help ensure your package arrives safely.

Due to heightened security, unfortunately only limited tracking information is available on military orders and we are unable to track them after they leave the United States. Most military packages are delivered within 3-8 business days, however depending on location and other external factors, including military inspection, some orders may experience additional delays.

Payment Methods

Do you take credit cards?

We accept most major credit cards: American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. We also accept PayPal payments.  Any transactions you make are fully guaranteed and insured, and since all the credit information you give us is transmitted by secured and encrypted lines, you don't have to worry about any unauthorized access to your account.

 

How do I pay using a credit or debit card?

When you're ready to checkout and want to pay using your Visa, MasterCard or American Express, select the Credit Card payment method. Enter your card information, including the card type, card number, expiration date, CV2 code, and billing address, and then click Submit Order at the bottom of the page.

When an order is submitted using a card payment, the information is sent using advanced SSL Security to authorize the amount, but no money is withdrawn from the account. While the funds may not appear in your available balance, they have not entered our account. Once an order has shipped, the authorization becomes a settled transaction and the funds enter our account, finalizing the purchase.

If your card is declined, an error message displays immediately after clicking the Submit Order button. Unfortunately, we aren't provided with any information on the reason for the decline, but suggest verifying the card information and billing address was entered correctly and trying again. If the card is declined again, you may need to contact your credit card company or the issuing bank for more information.

To protect against fraud, orders that are suspected as fraudulent are canceled and payment is voided.

 

Is it safe to use my credit cards to purchase online?

Purchasing with a credit card on the Recapture Life website is 100% safe. The site uses a security protocol, called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). It provides data encryption, server authentication and message integrity.

The purchase area of our site is secure. This means that all information exchange between our server and your computer, including credit card number, name, and address, will be encrypted so that it cannot be read as it travels over the Internet.

Shopping with us is safe.

  1. We store all information we gather from you, such as name, address and credit card numbers in a password protected SQL database. This database resides in a directory on our web server machine NOT accessible via HTTP. This means that it is impossible for a browser to gain access to this directory, let alone break into our database. In addition, credit card numbers stored in our database are encrypted using a 128 bit key.

How do I pay using a gift certificate?

Paying for an order using a gift certificate is easy! When you're ready to checkout, select Gift Certificate as the payment option, enter the gift certificate number, and then click Submit Order.

  • If the total is less than the gift certificate balance, the remaining balance stays on the gift certificate to use on a future purchase.
  • If the total is more than the gift certificate balance, you'll be returned to the Payment Options page to select a secondary form of payment to pay for the remainder of the balance.
  • If you receive an error after submitting your order, try clicking the Back button on your browser and re-entering the gift certificate number.

Note: Gift certificates can only be purchased using U.S. dollars, can only be redeemed in the U.S. store, and must be redeemed within one year from the date of purchase.

 

How do I purchase a gift certificate?

To purchase a gift certificate, click on Gift Certificate under All Products, enter the amount, complete the form, and proceed to checkout. Within 24 hours, the lucky recipient receives an email from Bodybuilding.com with the gift certificate and lets them know of your generous gift.

How do I pay using PayPal?

To pay using the convenience of your PayPal account, during checkout choose the PayPal option, and then click the Proceed to PayPal button to continue to the PayPal website.

After logging in to your PayPal account, a page with our name and payment information displays, including the total amount due. Enter the required information to complete the form and submit the payment.

Restricted Product Notice: Due to PayPal restrictions, some items cannot be paid for using the PayPal service. In these situations, a message displays in the cart to prompt you to choose a different payment option for those products.

 

Can I pay with a check?

At this time, we do not accept checks for orders.  We will accept a Money Order from US customers for your order.  Just print out your order and mail it to us along with your Money Order and we will ship your products as soon as it is received.  

 

Is the information I give out kept private?

Recapture Life has a commitment to privacy for its customers. We use several different order and question forms to gather information on our web site. All replies are transmitted over secure lines that cannot be accessed or read by anyone else on the Internet. All credit card transactions are encrypted and insured. We may request personal identification information from you (such as your name, street address, telephone number, credit card number, email address, and/or any other identifier that permits the physical or online contacting of you) in connection with your use of, or participation in, membership registration for Recapture Life, Inc., our contests, sweepstakes, promotions, games, surveys, forums, subscription registrations, content submissions, chats, bulletin boards, discussion groups, requests for suggestions, visitors' requests for free products or services, or additional information (including via email to us), and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on any of our Sites. In all of these cases, we will collect personal identification information from you only if you voluntarily submit such information to us. Except as otherwise provided in this policy, we reasonably endeavor to ensure that we never intentionally disclose any personal identification information about you as an individual user to any third party without having received your permission (through opt-in or similar procedures) except as provided for herein or otherwise as permitted or required under law. Further, we may contact you based on the information you provide online whether in connection with your registration or in such places as the above described forums.

If you provide us with personal information for any of these activities, we may use it to conduct the activity. We may also use cookie technology and Web beacons (discussed in detail below) to improve your experience of these activities, including remembering your preferences, customizing the content and advertisements that you see, or authenticate your access to your personal information. In addition, in the event that your personally identifiable information is requested as part of our surveys, polls or promotions, such personally identifiable information may be added to your registration information.

We may also contact you to confirm your registration and communicate about your account status, as well as regarding changes to the Sites' Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy.

If you give us your permission, we may also use personal identification information for internal or external marketing and promotional purposes. For example, we may send emails to introduce a product or a service that we think might be of interest to the users of our Sites. For us to obtain your permission to send you this information, we will give you an opportunity to "opt-in" at the time our request for your personal information is made. If you do "opt-in," you may choose to "opt-out" at any time, even after you have provided personal information, by following the procedures set forth below at the end of this Privacy Policy. Please note, however, that under certain circumstances, if you initially do not choose to "opt-in," or if you later "opt-out," you may not be eligible for certain benefits for which a name, email address, telephone number or other personal identification information is needed.

We have the following exceptions to these policies: We will release specific information about you or your account to comply with any valid legal inquiry or process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order. We will also release specific information in special cases, such as if there is an attempted breach of the security of the Sites, or a physical or property threat to you or others. We may also transfer user information, including personally identifiable information, in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, the sale of related assets or corporate division, or other fundamental corporate change. We may provide access to your personally identifiable information to our contractors who are performing services for us in connection with our Sites or the services that you have requested.

In addition, on occasion, we may collect personal identification information from you in connection with optional contests, special offers, or promotions. We will share such information with necessary third parties for the purpose of carrying out the contest, special offer, or promotion. Your participation in the contest, special offer, or promotion constitutes your consent to such disclosure and use of such information.

Further, the information you enter when making a purchase or an online donation will be shared with payment processors, financial gateways, and your credit card company to authorize credit card payments. Such information may also be shared with necessary third parties solely for the purpose of carrying out the transactions.

Please note that if you give out personal information online, (for example, on one of our public forums such as a message board or chat room, folder, or chat IM feature), that information can be collected and used by third parties. Although we strive to protect our users' privacy, we cannot guarantee the security of information you post in these forums and have no control over how such third parties may use your information. You disclose such information at your own risk.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your information and password. You shall be responsible for all uses of your registration, whether or not authorized by you. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your registration or password.

We collect non-personal identification information through the use of, without limitation, the following types of methodology:

  • Cookie Technology: A "cookie" is an element of data that a website can send to your browser, which may then store it on your system.
  • IP Address Tracking: An "IP address" is a number that is assigned to your computer when you are on the Internet. When you request pages from our Sites, our servers log your IP address.
  • Web Beacons: A "Web beacon," or "clear gif," is a small graphic image on a webpage or web-based document that a website can use to determine information about a user.

Non-personal identification information might include the browser you use, the type of computer, technical information about your means of connection to our Sites such as the operating systems and the Internet service providers utilized, and other similar information. Our systems may also automatically gather information about the areas you visit and search terms you utilize on our Sites and about the links you may select from within our Sites to other areas of the World Wide Web or elsewhere online.

We use such information for our business purposes, and, in particular, to administer the Sites, better manage advertising on the Sites, and, in the aggregate, to understand how our users as a group use the services, features and other resources provided on our Sites. This way we know which areas of our Sites are favorites of our users, which areas need improvement, and what technologies are being used so that we may continually improve our Sites.

We may share this aggregate statistical information with our partners, suppliers and other third parties, but we will not share any individual names, personal navigational, or other personal information. For example, we may use a third-party advertising company to serve ads when you visit our Sites. We may share demographic and preference information with this company to allow them to display appropriate advertisements for you.

We use a proprietary advertising server to display ads on our Sites. In addition, advertisers may elect to use third-party advertising companies to serve ads onto our Sites. Some of our advertisers may display ads on our Sites that may use cookie technology or Web beacons to (i) identify non-personal information about our users (such as connection speed, browser and country of origin) and (ii) track user behavior within our Sites. Advertisers generally use such information to customize the display of ads within our Sites. We will not permit such advertisers to collect any personal information from our users within our Sites, however, you may choose to voluntarily provide the advertisers with your personal information. We do not have access to these cookies or any information that they may contain.

Further, from time-to-time we contract with a third party web analytics provider to help manage and optimize our Sites. We use this service to help us measure the effectiveness of our advertising and how visitors use our Sites. To do this, we use Web beacons and cookie technology on the Sites. The type of information we collect includes such information as the number of hits a webpage receives, type of browser used, and number of times a visitor makes a purchase from a particular promotion. By supplementing our records, this information helps us learn things like what pages are most attractive to our visitors, which products and services most interest our users, and what kinds of offers our users like to see. Although this third-party provider logs the information coming from our Sites on our behalf, we control how that data may and may not be used.

Special rules relating to children

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires that we inform parents and legal guardians about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under 13 years of age. Our Sites are not directed at children under 13 years of age but, we recognize that with proper adult supervision some parents might permit their children to visit our Sites and use our online services. COPPA requires that we obtain the consent of parents and guardians in order for children under 13 years of age to use certain features of our Sites.

When your child attempts to register and/or provide personal information to Recapture Life, Inc., we require a parent or legal guardian to:

  1. Register their child by completing the Permission to Participate Form and returning it, by facsimile or postal mail, to us as set forth on the form;
  2. Review our Privacy Policy and verify that the child's parent or guardian knows about and authorizes our information practices related to children protected by COPPA; and
  3. Verify via email confirmation a second authorization that the parent or guardian consents to these Term of Use and Privacy Policy. Send such email authorizations to corporate@recapturelife.com .

Once parental notice and consent has been verified, the information we collect will be treated the same as information collected from any other user. Without verified parental notice and consent, we will not knowingly collect personal information relating to children under 13 years of age, and if we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will promptly delete it.

How parents can access their children's information

In compliance with COPPA, a parent or legal guardian may request from us to review, delete or stop the collection of personally identifiable information relating to their child or any child in their legal custody who is under 13 years of age. You may do so by following the instructions below regarding Access to/Correction of Information. If you request that no further information about your child be collected or used, we will be required to terminate your child's ability to use any part of the service or feature that requires a user to "sign in."

Users will find advertising or other content on our Sites that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on those sites. In addition, those sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. Those sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies, or no policy (policies) at all. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party sites or services before providing any of them with your personal information.

Protecting your privacy and your information is a top priority. We have taken reasonable measures to secure both your information and our physical premises. We exercise reasonable care in providing safe transmission of your information from your PC to our servers (unless sent by a means outside of our control, such as email). However, we cannot guaranty that our measures will completely bar unauthorized access to your information, and by using the Sites you assume this risk.

Access to/correction of information

If you would like to review any personal information we have retained about you in our database, please send us an email request for this information at corporate@recapturelife.com . To help us address your request, please specify which information you wish to review. Once you have reviewed this information, at your request we will correct personal information about you that you state is erroneous. To request such a correction, please send an email to corporate@recapturelife.com . You should be aware, however, that it is not always possible to completely remove or modify information in our databases and servers although we will always make reasonable efforts to do so upon your request. Please also understand that due to the volume of traffic on the Sites and correspondence received, we cannot make any representations about the timeliness of the making of such modifications. In addition, we are unable to modify your information in the records of any third party who has been provided with your information in accordance with this policy.

Choice opt-in/opt-out

If you "opt-in" to receive information from us, you can change your mind later. If at any time you would like to stop receiving such information or opt-out of a feature, you may go back to RecaptureLife.com and unsubscribe. You should be aware, however, that it is not always possible to completely remove or modify information in our databases and servers, although we will always make reasonable efforts to do so upon your request, and we are unable to have your information removed from the records of any third party who has been provided with your information in accordance with this policy. The Sites are operated in the United States. If you are located in the European Union or elsewhere outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. By using our Website, participating in any of our services and/or providing us with your information, you consent to this transfer.

Your acceptance of these terms

My using any of the Sites, you signify your acceptance of our Privacy Policy, your promise to comply with the representations you make and contained in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and your understanding of the scope and limitations of the protections provided under the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Returns and Exchanges

What is your return policy?

Our goal is to make sure you are completely satisfied with the items you order and your experience with Recapture Life, Inc. Depending on the reason for the return and the condition of the product, there may be several options available to you.

  • If you would like to return an unopened product for any reason, we can either issue a refund to your method of payment, or we can apply an in-store credit to your account that you can use towards a future purchase. The refund issued or in-store credit applied is for the price of the product only and does not include any shipping fees charged for delivery.
  • If you would like to return a product that you’ve opened, we can apply an in-store credit to your account that you can use towards a future purchase. The in-store credit applied is for the price of the product only and does not include any shipping fees charged for delivery.
  • If a product you receive is damaged during shipment, arrives after its expiration date, or is not what you ordered, we can send a replacement right away and provide a prepaid return label for our U.S. customers.
  • If a clothing item (i.e., belt, posing suit, shirt, etc.) doesn't fit properly, we'll gladly issue an in-store credit to your account for a different size, but must charge for the new shipping fee and the return shipping cost.
  • If the item you’d like to return was ordered more than six months ago, or if the item was purchased using in-store credit as part of a previous exchange, we cannot accept the return or issue a refund for any reason.

To begin processing any type of return, please email our Customer Service team and provide your name, the order number, and the reason for returning the product.

To speed up the returns process, please return the product along with a copy of your invoice to the same warehouse that shipped your original order with "Attention: Returns" on the address label.

When returning an item, we highly recommend using a shipping method that provides step-by-step tracking information to help ensure its safe arrival. We apologize, but we are not responsible for the amount of time it takes for an item to be returned to our facility, or if the item is lost or damaged during the return process.

Once we have received the product and the return has been processed by our warehouse, we can issue the refund or award the in-store credit to your account

U.S. Customers

We provide return shipping labels for products that were shipped incorrectly (i.e., wrong item delivered), defective or damaged items, and products that arrive after the expiration date.

To request a return shipping label, or for more information about our Returns Policy, please email our Customer Service department.

International Customers

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide return shipping labels for customers outside the United States.

 

What is your refund policy?

Domestic Customers

When you are due a refund, most often it is processed within 2-5 business days and issued to the payment account used for the original purchase.

  • If you originally paid for your order using a credit card, debit card, or PayPal, it may take up to five additional business days before the refund is reflected on your account statement.
  • If the original account is closed, or if the card used has expired, we will issue your refund through the mail as a cashier's check within 7-14 business days.
  • If you originally paid using a secure form of payment, such as a wire transfer, Western Union, or money order, the refund is sent by mail to your shipping address as a cashier's check within 7-14 business days.

International Customers

When you are due a refund, it will be processed back to your original form of payment no later than 14 days after we are notified of the return. Refunds or in-store credit awards will be once we have received and processed the return at our warehouse. The amount refunded or issued as an in-store credit is for the price of the returned product and the cost of shipping that item to you.

Unfortunately, when you are due a refund, there are many external factors that can impact how long it takes for a refund to process back to your account. Every bank handles transactions differently; some are returned quickly, while others can take an extended period of time. Once we have refunded the transaction on our end, it could take anywhere from 4-25 business days to be reflected on your account.

We apologize, but we are unable to send cashier’s checks internationally. If your payment account is closed, or if you paid using a secure form of payment, please email our Customer Service department so we can work with you to find the best option for processing your refund.
